About Me - The Trader Behind It'sTradingStar

Hey, I’m Nimantha, a futures trader and the person behind ItsTradingStar. I’ve been trading for several years, and like many of you, I started with a small account, big dreams, and no idea what I was really getting into. This is my space to share my journey, my lessons, and my honest reviews of prop firms and trading tools.

My Trading Journey

My trading journey started the same way it does for most people — full of excitement, frustration, and more blown accounts than I’d like to admit. I first got curious about trading when I saw the freedom it could offer, but I quickly realized this wasn’t a “get rich quick” game.

I struggled at first, jumping from one strategy to another, until I eventually found consistency in futures trading. What clicked for me was focusing on risk management and keeping my emotions in check — not chasing every trade. Over time, I began testing myself with different prop firm challenges, including Take Profit Trader, and that’s when things started to change.

Trading has taught me discipline, patience, and how to think in probabilities instead of guarantees. I’m still learning every day, and that’s exactly why I share my journey — so you can avoid some of the mistakes I’ve made along the way.

Why I built It'sTradingStar

I created ItsTradingStar with one simple goal: to be the kind of resource I wish I had when I started trading.

There’s a lot of noise out there — flashy lifestyles, “gurus” selling dreams, and reviews that are clearly written just to push affiliate links. I wanted to build something different.

Here, I share real experiences, honest reviews of trading firms and tools, and the lessons I’ve learned (sometimes the hard way) from the markets. My hope is that ItsTradingStar becomes a place where traders can get straightforward advice, build confidence, and feel like they’re not navigating this journey alone.

Outside of Trading

Outside of the charts, I’m a huge badminton fan. I started playing when I was eight years old, and it’s still one of the things that keeps me balanced today. I play every week — it clears my head, keeps me competitive, and reminds me that discipline isn’t only a trading skill. I’m also really into music and video editing. Creating short edits, experimenting with sound, and putting stories together visually has become a fun creative escape for me.
